Simple Homemade Detox Water – Drink Away Acne Scars

Acne scarring is something that affects many of us and it makes skin feel uncomfortable. It made me feel conscious of my appearance. I discovered detoxing with water based, natural recipes that I drink, when the synthetic topical remedies I tried didn’t work for me.

My skin was dry and unhealthy. On top of that, I had scars from acne that I struggled to repair using treatments from the pharmacy. I tried detoxing with water and natural foods, and was genuinely surprised with the results. I saw swift improvements in the appearance and condition of my skin.

Detoxing worked for me. Working from the inside out, my skin glowed and was hydrated because the toxins were flushed away. I had none of the burning and odor of the chemical remedies I tried, and I saved on the costs and hassle of surgical procedures that are very invasive.

The beauty of detoxing with water and natural ingredients, is my body did the work with the nutrients I gave it. Below are the healthy, detoxifying recipes I used. You can make them up in a large amount, or make enough for a bottle by using less of each ingredient. It’s all down to your personal preference.

Water, Fruit and Vegetable Skin Recovery And Detox Remedies

1. Cucumber

High in vitamins A and C, cucumbers help to repair and strengthen damaged skin and assist in the formation of collagen. The addition of mint and lemon boosts cleansing ability to make your skin glow.

Recipe

  • 1 Cucumber
  • 1 Lemon
  • 10-12 mint leaves
  • Water

Optional: Crush the mint leaves to release the oils. Add the juice of the lemon, or slice and soak in the water.

This drink works and tasted very refreshing. It made my skin feel hydrated, but I didn’t like the flavor as cucumber can be tasteless. The added mint and lemon worked very well.

2. Blueberries

These antioxidant powerhouses are perfect for skin healing and recovery. Add oranges to provide vitamin C, and you have a combination that will clear your complexion and make your skin glow.

Recipe

  • Handful of fresh or frozen blueberries
  • 2 oranges
  • Water

Optional: Juice the orange, or cut into wedges or slices. You can crush the blueberries slightly to extract even more of the nutrients and flavor.

This recipe was my favorite because I love the tart taste of blueberries mixed with orange.

3. Strawberries

Not only are strawberries sweet, they are full of nutrients that help to neutralize cell damage. They will act to lighten skin blemishes and acne scarring. Using chia seeds adds a lot of benefit without extra calories. They are an antioxidant to help detox your system and loaded with Omega-3 Fatty acid which helps skin to retain moisture.

Recipe

  • Handful of strawberries
  • 1 tbsp of chia seeds
  • Water

Optional: Add lemon or lime juice if you like your water a little tart. Add more chia seeds, but allow them to soak for about twenty minutes to soften.

The strawberries contain natural sugars, so this drink was still lovely and sweet even with the water. It was refreshing and satisfied my sugar cravings.
